One of the Largest Ibex Colonies

With around 1,800 ibex, Pontresina is home to one of the largest ibex colonies in the Alps. In spring, the animals come right down to the edge of the village to feed on fresh blades of grass. The Ibex Promenade above Pontresina provides entertaining information panels about the Graubünden heraldic animal, leads to scenic viewpoints, and features newly installed ibex loungers that complete the experience.
