One of the Most Valuable Sacred Buildings
The Church of Sta. Maria is the oldest and most beautiful church in Pontresina. As if that were not enough, it is also one of the most precious sacred buildings in the canton of Graubünden. This former burial church contains valuable medieval wall paintings, including Byzantine-Romanesque fragments from the 13th and 15th centuries of exceptional quality.
