The Morteratsch Glacier
The Largest Glacier by Volume
The Morteratsch Glacier has a length of 6.4 km and a total area of around 14.9 km². Together with the Pers Glacier, it is therefore the largest glacier by volume in the Eastern Alps.
Along the Morteratsch Glacier Trail, visitors can walk step by step in the footsteps of the third-longest glacier in the Eastern Alps. At 16 stopping points, you can learn fascinating facts about the retreat of the glacier and the remarkable life in its surroundings.
